Seek the Kingdom

What an amazing promise the Lord gives us here! While it’s quite straightforward, it’s definitely not easy: Seek the kingdom of God first (that is, prioritze His will and purposes in your life), and He promises to meet all of our needs. This is an incredible opportunity, when you stop and think about it.

The key question here, though, is this: Whose kingdom am I seeking first – mine or the Lord’s? I still wrestle with this question, admittedly. Depending on the circumstances, I can get awfully attached to having things go my way – according to my dreams, plans, and timetable. After all, this is the prevailing message that our culture sends to us day in and day out.

The great thing is that God’s abundant grace toward me is never based on my performance; rather, it is anchored in His unconditional love for all of His children – even when we make mistakes. And where there is abundant grace and love, we can also find an ample supply of hope, too – or at least I do.

What about you?

  1. I too get wrapped up in what I think should happen, when it should happen. But the more I let it roll, ride along with God. Sit in the passengers seat, things get done, usually go my way, and I am satisfied, and at peace. BUT I still grab the keys sometimes, and rev off LOL I will hopefully learn on of these days :):) God Bless you my friend.
