Faithful is He

This verse gives me hope because it reminds me that God is the One who ushers in the meaningful transformation and growth in my life. Yes, I have an obligation to be responsible and to obey and apply the biblical truth that I know, but ultimately, the Lord is the One who divinely orchestrates all things.

Hear me: I’m not a fatalist, and I do not adhere to the “Christian puppet” mindset (that God pulls the strings, and that we are powerless to make decisions apart from Him). However, since He made us, the Lord – moreso than anyone – knows what is best for us, so we are wise to seek His will and wisdom each day of our lives.

And as we do so, we can lay hold of the promise also shared with the church at Thessalonica: Faithful is He who calls you, and He will also bring it to pass.

[And if you want to know what the “it” refers to, I encourage you to read verses 12-23 of the chapter to get some helpful context. My take on it is this: Whatever God has called us to do in His name, He will find a way to equip and guide us so that transformation takes place. Put another way, we can hang our hats on the promise that the Lord will accomplish whatever He has purposed in us and through us, so long as we intently seek after Him.]

And do you know what? Even when we are faithless, God is still faithful to us. The Bible says something about that, too!

2 Timothy 2:13 (AMP): If we are faithless, He remains faithful [true to His word and His righteous character], for He cannot deny Himself.

Faithful is He, indeed. ⭐️
