The Gift of Peace

What an inspirational verse from John 14! Surely, the peace of Christ is something that He gives us freely, and no one (or no thing) can take it away, – unless we choose to give it away, that is.

There are lots of things that we should let go of as we go through the ups and downs of life, but one thing to definitely hold on each day? The peace of God. After all, once we relinquish the peace of God, then fear and worry move to the forefront of our thinking, and we start to take our focus off of the Lord’s promises:

“I will never leave you or forsake you.”
“I know the plans I have for you.”
“Be anxious for nothing.”
“I am with you always.”
“[You] can do all things through Christ who gives [you] strength.”

Let’s remember to hold our peace today and every day. It’s not always an easy thing to release fear and worry, but when we do and surrender our concerns to God, don’t we inevitably experience a palpable sense of relief? What a blessing it is to remember that God is the One who is firmly in control! Therefore, we can trust His plans, timing, and purposes, and freely enjoy His peace, too.

  1. Second time I have read something very similar to this, Give it to God, trust Him, and it will be ok. Well I should say 3rd time because the first time was the conversation I had with the LORD about it this morning. So, I will say to you what I said to the other blogger, this is a(nother) confirmation for me :):):)My day was starting of not so good. I just gave it to God, and how quickly my situation changed. Something that was a thorn in my side was taken care of so quickly, and painlessly that it even amazed me :):):) My irritation turned to worship, and then awe struck at how Good God really is when I just let Him have His way. In my head, during the whole task, was this song I had heard from Hank Williams Sr. “Are you walking, and a talking with the Lord” It just kept playing on loop haha. Here’s the Chorus just to give you and idea:
Are you walkin’, (are you walkin’)
Are you talkin’, (are you talkin’)
Are you walkin’ and a-talkin’ with the Lord?
Are you traveling in his light
    Ev’ry day and ev’ry night
Are you walkin’ and a talkin’ with the Lord?…
    :):)

    1. What a blessing to know it is that the Lord removed the thorn from your side, Margaret! And quickly, too! Your testimony gives me encouragement and hope– thank you so much for sharing it. 💛

I hope that your day ended better than it began, my friend.

And I do know that song, although I haven’t heard it for a very long time. I love the lyrics! 🙂

      1. Yes, the day finished off full of blessings, and a worship service call with my mom was the icing on the cake for today. God is always ready to take care of everything :):):) I am so overwhelmed by His love. He loves us so much :):) I thank God for encouraging you, and filling you with hope. Amen!
