So it’s been quite a week! Lots of things to be thankful to God for, so I’ll get going with my weekly gratitude post:
🔴 My father was finally discharged from the hospital. As some of you may know, my father suffered a stroke a couple of weeks ago, but the Lord has been working in his life in a miraculous way since that time. I am delighted to report that he was able to return home last week and is walking around; and while it will take him some time to regain the full functionality he had on the left side of his body, my father is doing really well (he’s up and about, mobile, etc.). He just needs to keep up with his physical and occupational therapy regimen, and hopefully continue to make progress in his recovery. God is good!
🔴 I took a little road trip to visit a friend of mine, and it was nice to get away for a bit and enjoy a change of scenery! I didn’t go super far or anything, but – in California, anyway – when you drive an hour in practically any direction, you’ll end up somewhere new and different. Sometimes, “new and different” is just what the Doctor ordered!
🔴 I had the chance to grab dinner with another friend of mine, who is the closest thing to a sister I have. I couldn’t believe that it had been almost a year since I had last seen her, but much had changed in her life – and mine, too – in the interim. You know how it is when you have a friend where – even when you haven’t seen one another for a long time – the conversation picks up right where it left off? It was just like that. Even though I don’t have a biological sister per se, this friend has been a sister to me in all the ways that matter. Grateful for her!
🔴 I was given some really interesting projects at work last week, and I love what I’m doing! Quick update: I recently rejoined (essentially as a contractor) the same organization that I worked for last year. I am glad to be back again, as I really enjoy the people and the role – for as long as the Lord has me to be there. God is faithful!
As I said at the outset, it’s been quite a (good) week; and as this verse from 1 Timothy 4 reminds me, everything God has made or provided is good – it’s how we receive His blessings (with gratitude and sincerity, or with entitlement and selfishness?) that really matters.
Have a great week! 💛
