Through It All

I was just reflecting on these verses from Isaiah 43, and came to an important realization. So often, we can get distracted by the “waters,” 💦 “rivers,” 🌊 and “fire” 🔥 all around us that we miss the promises contained in this passage:

💦 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;”

🌊 “And through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;”

🔥 “And when you walk through fire you shall not be burned.”

My takeaway? Life may throw us curveballs from time to time, but the Lord promises to be with us during our trials and our joys – and, most importantly, we will make it through. When you pass through the choppy waters, fierce rivers, or scorching fires (or perhaps all three at once?) in your life, try to remember two key things: 1) You’re not in this alone; and 2) and you will make it through whatever season you’re in, by God’s grace – believe that. Whatever work the Lord is doing in and through you (and your circumstances), rest in the knowledge that it will be completed. ✝️

  1. Praise God. How would any of us get through anything without Him? Life has been bumpy to say the least lately butI can rest assured that God is standing right here with me through it all, pushing me along, all the while using it for His glory. I might not understand but I don’t need to. God knows how this story ends, and that’s good enough for me 🙂 I pray you are feeling better Sister 🙂

  2. God is so good! SO many promises for us to grasp as He grasps us. We are reminded:
Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. (from Ps 73)

    1. I like the way you said that: “So many promises for us to grasp as He grasps us.” That sentence created a really powerful word picture for me – thank you!

And Psalm 73 ♥️ – such a wonderful chapter of encouragement from God’s Word!

    1. Same to you, Frances! You are a blessing. 🙂

And yes – Lord willing, we will all make it through whatever trial comes our way until He decides to take us home. Of this we can be sure and confident. It won’t be easy, and we may not understand what’s happening, but we will make it one way or the other! ✝️
