Hope Floats

God’s wisdom — don’t leave home without it! I love how Solomon puts this in the book of Ecclesiastes: “Wisdom preserves the life of him who has it.” There is a place for money and a role that it is meant to play, but only wisdom and can potentially save your life! Think about it. 💡

When it’s put that starkly, the wisdom of God sure looks a lot more appealing than the ways of the world, don’t you think?

Would you pray with me?

Dear Lord, help me to seek Your wisdom in all that I say and do. Fill me with Your wisdom, knowledge, and discernment — my spiritual life preservers — and help me to keep my eyes trained on YOU each and every day. In Your name I pray, amen.

  1. Great prayer. The world wants to tell us it’s wisdom but it is God’s wisdom we need to seek. He is so gracious, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1:5”.

    1. I love the book of James! It’s amazing how God makes His wisdom available to all who seek it, yet we are sadly so eager to pay quite a lot (money, time and other resources) to hear the faulty “wisdom” of man. 🤔
