Hello, friends! I am still recovering my sinus infection, so I will keep today’s post fairly brief. Thanks for understanding. 🙏🏾
I am curious to hear your thoughts on this passage from Ephesians 5. It was the first part of it that really captured my attention: “Therefore, be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise….” Apparently, outward signs of progress (taken on their own) do not necessarily indicate the presence of wisdom — so we should take care, as the “unwise” are walking, too!
This reminds me that while there are many people I may encounter on my journey, not everyone who seems to be headed in the same direction as me necessarily is. 💡 We should be able to better discern their character and motives by noting the presence (or absence) of the following behaviors, as indicated in the passage:
▫️Does the person’s actions and speech show evidence of “walking wisely”?
▫️To what extent is the person using his/her time in a God-honoring way?
▫️To what extent is the person sincerely seeking the Lord’s will is his/her life?
These are my ruminations – what are yours?
