Trusting God

Dear friends,

I am still here! I got sick last week, and then the fires started here in Northern California. I nave been focused on staying indoors as much as possible and weating my N-95 mask when I have to step outside. 😷 Thankfully, my asthma is doing fairly well! Still, the smoky air remains, so none of us (especially those with respiratory illness) is out of the woods quite yet.

I will write again when I can, but in the interim, may these words by Max Lucado be a source of encouragement and hope to you today. ✝️🙏🏾🧡

    1. I heard a message by Max Lucado a month or two ago, and was mightily blessed by it. And thank you for the compliment on the quotable quotes! I usually cite the wisdom of other people. I still have lots of room to grow on that front!

I so appreciate your prayers, Kathy. The fires are close enough where the air quality here has bee compromised for awhile now, but it is not as bad as it was last year. You can still see that the air is smoky, but at least for the past couple of days, I have not smelled smoke in the air – that is a blessing for sure.

It’s a reminder to me that the very air we breathe (and very much take for granted each day) is there by the grace of God alone!

  1. I pray continued protection for all of you in this fire. Many friends have checked in on fb to let us know they are ok. We lived in Northern California for many years, and still the fires of October 2017 remain vivid in my memory. God bless you all and continued safety. ♥

    1. Thank you, Jacquie. Yes, it does seem as if there have been more large-scale fires in California these past few years, no?

I am grateful that the fires do not seem to be as severe (for where I live) compared to last year, but the air quality still leaves much to be desired. Staying indoors is usually our best strategy. 🙂

How are things going with you?

      1. We are well and thankful at the improvement regarding the fires. We used to live in Northern California, and have many friends there. I pray the Lord cleans the air for all of you to once again resume life in that beautiful part of the country. Blessings ♥

      2. Thank you so much! Your prayers are both appreciated and needed. I’m not as close to the fires as some of my cousins are – the air quality is much worse there.

Do you miss living in California? Several people I know have moved out of the state, and they seem happier after they left!

      3. We moved away years ago because we sensed the Lord’s leading. We generally miss people, and not so much places. For us, it was the opportunity to be near family, for which I am deeply grateful. Blessings of peace and protection. ♥

    1. Yes he does, and his writing is Spirit-filed, I find. I heard a message from him a couple of months ago, and understand that the Lord has given him a gift of teaching and storytelling that is unique and powerful in its impact. I haven’t read one of his books yet, but now I feel like I want to start one!

How are things with you two these days?
