This verse really stood out to me. How often do I “slip away” to a quiet place and pray?
I find it fascinating that Jesus purposefully sought out “the wilderness” as His regular prayer spot — I imagine that most of us would prefer to stay well clear of such a place.
Where is your “wilderness”? And can this area be redeemed as a place of prayer?
Pray with me:
Dear Jesus, thank You for this reminder that I can pray to You at any time or any place. And when life gets hard and all I see is “the wilderness,” help me to intentionally seek You there, rather than focusing on illeviating my own discomfort and pain. In Your name I pray, amen.
