Covered + Favored

Isn’t it comforting to know those who honor and bless the Lord with their lives are in turn given a shield-like “cover” from God?

This is a pretty amazing deal, when we stop and think about it. It certainly does not mean that life is easy — remember, a shield historically was needed during a battle — but how assuring it is to know that our lives are fully covered with favor from our sovereign Lord! I wouldn’t have it any other way. ♥️

  1. Good mornin to you daily hopeful.
I hope that you are doing well.

    Consider this please…
“For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.”

Those whom He has made His righteousness, are covered with a shield.

Do you see that His elect have been made the righteousness of God as a free gift by the obedience of one? Apart from our works?

That ought to put a smile in your heart to think…”hey y’all, I’ve been made the righteousness of God! Oh thank you LORD!” 😀

    1. Good point, Margaret. I think that is what I call “picket fences Christianity,” where some misguided people believe that life harbors no troubles and that God wants us all to live trouble-free lives. The Bible never says that! He wants us to have joy despite our troubles (and Jesus warned us that we would have our share of them).

A joy to see you as well, my friend. I will be headed back to you blog shortly. 🙂

    1. Your comment made me pause and think. Walking through water requires a great deal of effort, but it also builds strength, and can provide a source of refreshment (provided that we only wade in to our ankles and stick close to the shore). But yes, what assurance can be found in the knowledge that we are wholly His, and fully protected under His care!
